Whittier Elementary is among 14 Ohio schools recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a 2024 National Blue Ribbon School, which highlights schools that excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups.
Starting Monday, schools throughout the district are rolling out various activities and events to build community and foster a sense of belonging in honor of Start with Hello Week.
Created by the Sandy Hook Promise organization, Start with Hello Week runs Sept. 16-20 and is focused on helping students build empathy, healthy relationships and social awareness through social-emotional lessons and activities.
From new flooring to updated technology, several elementary schools welcomed students this year with renovated and refreshed spaces all throughout their buildings. The renovation work was part of the first phase of the district’s Facilities Master Plan.
The newest members at several Westerville City Schools elementaries have spent the past week starting to build relationships in their school communities.
The Westerville City School District Board of Education on Monday, July 8, 2024, voted unanimously to request additional funding for facilities and operations by placing a combined levy and bond issue on the Nov. 5 ballot.
The Westerville City Schools’ new Strategic Plan serves as a road map to guide and prioritize the district’s most critical work in the coming years.
